The forest program varies between watching the birds at dawn, paddling through igarapés, walking among centuries-old trees to the soundtrack of howler monkeys, photographing pink river dolphins leaping in a golden lake, and visiting traditional communities to learn about their crafts, culture, and way of life.
Almost all lodges offer nighttime boat trips to observe animals under an incredibly starry sky. In addition to boats prepared for safe and comfortable tours, the lodges provide high-standard facilities and unique experiences, such as enjoying a glass of wine in a cozy garden while waiting for fresh fish to be cooked over an open fire.
Day 1 – Origin / Manaus – Evolução Ecolodge
Flight to Manaus. Arrival at the airport and transfer at 2:00 PM to Evolução Ecolodge, with an estimated arrival at 4:30 PM. At 5:30 PM, lodge orientation tour, followed by dinner at 7:00 PM and free evening.
Transfer from Manaus at 2:00 PM.
Day 2 – Evolução Ecolodge
Breakfast at 7:00 AM. Departure at 8:00 AM for a guided jungle walk with a specialized tour guide, where guests can walk among large trees, breathe the pure forest air, and learn about the flora and fauna of this amazing region. Return for lunch at 12:00 PM. At 3:00 PM, orientation tour in small canoes through the Igapós (seasonally flooded forest) and small creeks to observe life in the floodplains, with opportunities to see monkeys and sloths. In the late afternoon, enjoy an incredible experience swimming with Pink River Dolphins and observing them in the wild. Followed by piranha fishing and sunset watching. Dinner at 7:00 PM. After dinner at 8:00 PM, guided night tour to spotlight caimans along the riverbanks, exploring nocturnal wildlife. Guests may see frogs, snakes, nocturnal hawks, and active caimans. The guide uses a flashlight to spot caimans and smaller creatures in the water and trees.
Day 3 – Evolução Ecolodge
Departure at 5:30 AM for a canoe tour to witness sunrise and the awakening of nature as the first rays of sunlight break the morning silence, while birds and forest creatures begin their day, with birdwatching along the Ariaú River. Return for breakfast at 8:00 AM. Free morning to swim, relax, or enjoy lodge facilities. At 9:00 AM, motorized canoe tour to visit a local native house, where guests can see how riverine families live and learn about their customs and traditions. These families typically cultivate cassava and prepare the famous cassava flour. They are known as “caboclos” (mixed Indigenous and Amazonian heritage). The history of the Amazonian population and the rubber cycle is explained on-site. Return for lunch at 12:00 PM. At 3:00 PM, tour through the Igapós and small creeks to observe floodplain life and visit the Monkey Forest, where different species can be seen up close. Guests can interact, play, and take photos. Farewell dinner at 7:00 PM and free evening.
Day 4 – Evolução Ecolodge – Manaus / Origin
Breakfast at 7:00 AM. Free morning to swim, relax, or enjoy lodge facilities. Check-out at 9:30 AM. Departure from the lodge at 10:00 AM for transfer to the airport and flight back to the city of origin.
Transfer out to Manaus at 10:00 AM.
