In few places around the world does nature display its strength and grandeur with such intensity. The Iguaçu Falls were chosen as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in a global vote organized by the New7Wonders Foundation between 2009 and 2011.
It’s impossible not to be amazed by its 275 waterfalls forming a canyon of immense proportions.
Surrounded by the Iguaçu National Park, the falls are not the only attraction in the region. The park also preserves the largest remaining area of Atlantic Forest in southern Brazil. Declared a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 1986, it offers excellent infrastructure for visitors.
At attractions such as the Bird Park (Parque das Aves), you’ll encounter beautiful species like toucans, macaws, parakeets, scarlet ibises, bellbirds, and iguanas. On the Macuco Safari, a boat takes you face to face with the magnificent waterfalls.
Located at the triple border between Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay — and with decades of experience welcoming travelers — the city of Foz do Iguaçu offers a wealth of cultural experiences, gastronomy, shopping, and warm hospitality.

Day 2 – Macuco Safari + Brazilian Falls + Bird Park
In the morning, departure to visit the Bird Park (Parque das Aves), located at the entrance of Iguaçu National Park. Rare and colorful tropical birds fly freely in large aviaries integrated into the lush subtropical rainforest. Visitors can enter the aviaries to closely observe the birds’ lives. In addition to the birds, caimans, anacondas, boa constrictors, marmosets, and butterflies captivate visitors.
Next, embark on the Macuco Safari boat tour. Inside the National Park, travel 2 km through the forest in an open vehicle at a leisurely pace. Then, take a short walk to the banks of the Iguaçu River, where a specially designed motorboat departs for the adventure. The boat ascends the Iguaçu River canyon to the falls, offering a thrilling close-up view from the riverbed. The tour lasts approximately 2 hours.
After the boat ride, proceed to the Visitors’ Center, then follow the trail that provides panoramic views of over 240 different waterfalls, and continue along the walkways descending to the Devil’s Throat (Garganta do Diabo), the largest of all falls. A panoramic elevator ascends beside the waterfall to the upper viewing platform. Together with the Argentine Park, Iguaçu National Park forms the most significant tropical rainforest reserve in the Southern Cone, designated a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. On the return, visit a local handicraft center. The rest of the day is free.
Important: Bring a raincoat to protect yourself from splashes during the boat ride and mist on the walkways.
