It’s unanimous that Chapada dos Veadeiros has a special kind of energy. Some attribute this to its formation over a vast quartz crystal plate; others believe it’s due to its incredible biodiversity.
Some say it’s because of the warm and welcoming spirit of its residents. In truth, it’s the combination of all these elements that makes Chapada such an inspiring destination.
For over two decades, travelers have been coming to this truly unique and captivating place that never ceases to move us. Come along and enjoy its stunning landscapes, waterfalls, and trails of varying difficulty levels, as well as a wide range of outdoor activities. And after a long day of adventure, relax in the comfort of a cozy accommodation.

Reception at Brasília airport until 12 p.m. and transfer to Alto Paraíso (230 km). Lunch in Alto Paraíso and accommodation at the chosen inn.
Day 2 – Morada do Sol & Vale da Lua
Near São Jorge, we’ll head to the Morada do Sol waterfall complex. With easy access, our walk begins at the entrance gate, where we leave the car and continue for approximately 1.5 km on relatively flat terrain. At the Morada do Sol waterfalls, you can explore along the São Miguel River, admiring each of the waterfalls and natural pools formed along the way, surrounded by stone slabs and scenic viewpoints. It’s about 500 meters of pure fun.
Next, we’ll visit another attraction of the São Miguel River, the Vale da Lua (“Moon Valley”), a private property near the National Park. We’ll walk about 600 meters to the riverbed, a stunning landscape of rock formations sculpted by water over thousands of years. Lunch stop in São Jorge in the late afternoon.
Day 3 – Segredo Waterfall
After breakfast, we’ll hike northeast along a well-marked trail. At the end of the trail lies the breathtaking Segredo Waterfall, an impressive 120 meters high, offering one of the Chapada’s most spectacular views — a true postcard moment. We’ll enjoy a refreshing swim and a picnic lunch.
Day 4 – Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park – Saltos do Rio Preto
After breakfast, we’ll walk the trail to the Saltos do Rio Preto (approx. 10 km – optional transportation available). The first waterfall, 120 meters high, offers a stunning view and is one of the region’s most iconic sights. Next, we’ll visit the 80-meter waterfall, which has a large natural pool perfect for swimming. On the way back, we’ll enjoy another dip in the natural whirlpools known as “Pedreiras.” Lunch in São Jorge in the late afternoon.
Day 5 – Almécegas I & II and São Bento Waterfalls
After breakfast, transfer to Fazenda São Bento, where we’ll visit Almécegas I, a 45-meter-high waterfall.
Optional activities: Rappelling or the “Voo do Gavião” zipline.
Next, we’ll visit Almécegas II, which features a large pool ideal for swimming. On the way out of the farm, one more stop for a swim at São Bento Waterfall. Lunch in Alto Paraíso and accommodation at the chosen inn.
Day 6 – Cristais Waterfalls and Poço Encantado

For the more adventurous, there’s an optional 3 km hike to Água Fria Waterfall and the Moinho viewpoint. Then, we’ll visit Poço Encantado Waterfall, 40 meters high, featuring a beautiful natural beach. Return to Alto Paraíso for lunch in the late afternoon.
Day 7 – Couros Waterfalls
After breakfast, we’ll drive 57 km west to visit one of Chapada’s most impressive sites: the Couros Waterfalls. After about 1.5 hours on off-road trails, we’ll walk 1.5 km along the Couros River to the first waterfalls, where the river cascades through a canyon with about 300 meters of elevation change, forming a sequence of falls and pools. We’ll descend along one side of the river to a viewpoint from which we can see the upper and lower falls. Return to Alto Paraíso for lunch in the late afternoon.
